Visitor rules

MofuCon organizers value our visitors and care about their comfort. For this reason, we have prepared some house rules that all visitors to the event must adhere to. In case of non-compliance with the rules, the MofuCon Association reserves the right to exclude the violator from the event.

These rules apply to all visitors.

1. RESPECT FOR THE LAW AND RULES OF THE AREA:

It is prohibited to carry out activities that violate the law of the Republic of Slovenia or the rules of the exhibition space of the commercial exhibition center.

For the safety of all participants, cosplay prop rules apply and will be checked by authorized personnel. The checkpoint will be located on the right side of the main entrance to the event.

Prohibited items that will be retained at entry:

  • hard sports props, such as clubs and hockey sticks
  • other items the inspector considers dangerous for the event.

Allowed props must be made of light materials, have no sharp or sharpened edges, be no longer than two meters, pose no danger to visitors, and be checked and approved at the checkpoint. Approved props will be marked with a cable tie or adhesive tape.

Firearm replicas are exceptionally allowed when they are part of a cosplay and considered safe for the event. This includes airsoft replicas, 3D-printed replicas, plastic replicas (toys), and water pistols. Replicas must have no ammunition, battery, or sharp attachments.

When inspecting a firearm replica, the organizer may ask to inspect your bag and other personal belongings to prevent the entry of the items mentioned above. Keep firearm replicas properly stored when arriving and leaving; displaying them outside the event may violate the Public Order and Peace Act (ZJRM-1), for which the organizer accepts no responsibility. If staff notice that your prop has not been checked, you will be directed to the checkpoint. If you refuse inspection, the organizer reserves the right to exclude you from the event for violating the rules.

Taking pictures at MofuCon

MofuCon organizers value our visitors and care about their comfort. For this reason, we have prepared some house rules regarding photographing and filming at the event. In case of non-compliance with the rules, the MofuCon Association reserves the right to exclude the violator from the event.

These rules apply to all photographers and videographers.

1. PHOTOGRAPHY PERMISSION:

Always ask permission before photographing cosplayers. Want a candid shot? After taking the photo, show it to the cosplayer and ask if you may keep it. No matter how good it is, they may not want to be in it. If you are a cosplayer, do not be afraid to refuse being photographed. If you want to be photographed, you may ask a photographer for a picture. Of course, the photographer also has the right to respectfully decline your request.

2. MINORS:

For photographing minors, obtain permission from their parents and permission to publish the photos online at the same time.

3. RESPECT PERSONAL AFFAIRS:

Do not photograph cosplayers who are occupied with personal tasks. Atmospheric shots are allowed, but pay attention to moments of privacy.

4. RESPECT PERSONAL SPACE:

Respect the personal space of cosplayers and their companions. Ask for permission before photographing and agree on a suitable place that does not interfere with the event.

5. TOUCH PERMISSION:

Do not touch cosplayers or their props without explicit permission. Respect their privacy and ask for permission if you want to adjust part of their costume before photographing.

6. EXCHANGE CONTACTS:

Introduce yourself and exchange business cards or social media links. Photographers should share contact information, and cosplayers can share their contacts for easier photo exchange.

7. ADVERTISING PHOTOS:

Offer photos through websites, email, or free online platforms. Selling pictures and videos captured at the event is not allowed. It is recommended that you tag all cosplayers when posting pictures online or name them in the description. When sharing pictures as a cosplayer, include photo credit.

8. RESPECT PERSONAL BOUNDARIES:

If a cosplayer refuses to be photographed, respect that. The same goes for if a photographer refuses a request to take a picture. Communication and respecting personal boundaries are key.
